Newslang was born out of vocalist/guitarist Phillip’s longtime collaboration with drummer Justin Truitt. After playing together in multiple projects and briefly pursuing other paths, the two reconnected and began writing music without expectations—simply for the love of it. Phillip purchased a 1976 Les Paul Custom from the original owner and that very night, he went home, began to unwind, and wrote the riffs and melodies to what is now known as the band’s first single “So Long". Written in one night, and perfected over the course of a few weeks, that moment solidified the decision to take their vision seriously, marking the beginning of Newslang’s journey and setting the tone for the band’s alt-rock sound today.

Based in Las Vegas, Newslang captures the raw energy and angst of the 1990s and 2000s through a modern lens. With heavy guitar riffs, catchy hooks, and powerful vocals, they resonate with fans searching for a fresh yet familiar sound. Their music balances grit and melody, channeling emotion into every note while delivering a high-energy experience that feels both nostalgic and new. On stage, Newslang brings an electrifying presence marked by authenticity and intensity, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. With a growing fan base and a clear vision for their sound, the band is carving out their own place in today’s rock landscape.
