Weighted Shoulders// is a precursor to the single titled “//Breathe.” It is the calm before the storm, opening with an airy introduction before the first lyrics are sung by Phillip Seaton. The song feels like heartbreak and despair made tangible, building toward a grand exit filled with gritty, distorted guitars and angst that carries directly into “//Breathe.” Together, the two songs form a yin and yang.
//Breathe is full of angst and grit. It slaps you in the face with distorted guitars and brings you into a space where you can let loose, bang your head and experience the emotions of the lyrics behind the song. It is paired with Weighted Shoulders// which is the precursor to this track. Together, they form one masterpiece.
